Invented by a carpenter named Albert J. Swanson in 1925, the Speed® Square quickly became a popular tool. As tradesmen began to appreciate the ingenuity of his time saving Speed® Square, demand had grown dramatically and in 1928 Albert started the manufacturing process.

From those early days when the Speed® Square was first sold in Chicago, Illinois to the complete line of Speedline® Tools sold worldwide, one thing has not changed.
